Preparation of Silicic acid: it can be prepared by silica gel and hydrochloric acid. Soak the silica gel in the hydrochloric acid for 4-6 hours. Then wash it by pure water and dry it more than 72 hours. After this process, you should wash it again and dry it at temperature of 70-80 °C. In addition, Silicic acids may be formed by acidification of silicate salts (such as sodium silicate) in aqueous solution.
Uses of Silicic acid: it can manufacture catalyst and catalyst carrier. And it can be used as chemical reagent and flux in the production process of tungsten filament. What's more, it can be used for oil and wax decoloring.
