The IUPAC name of Platinum(II)-ammonium chloride is diazanium tetrachloroplatinum(2-). With the CAS registry number 13820-41-2 and EINECS 237-499-1, it is also named as Ammonium platinous chloride. It is light brown orange to red crystalline powder which is highly toxic. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NH₃, Cl⁻, and Pt. So the storage environment should be well-ventilated, low-temperature and dry.
