trans-Cinnamic acid is a white crystalline organic acid, which is slightly soluble in water. Uses of trans-Cinnamic acid: This is a fragrant acid occurring in aromatic resins. Cinnamic acid and its derivatives are used as important components in flavours, perfumes, synthetic and pharmaceuticals, though its primary use is in the manufacturing of the methyl, ethyl, and benzyl esters for the perfume industry.
