Suspected carcinogen with experimental tumorigenic data. Mildly toxic by ingestion. Experimental reproductive effects. Mutation data reported. An eye irritant. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of NO_x and SO_x. Used as a chemical intermediate in the production of saccharin.
